The ranch is owned by John R. Erickson, the author of the Hank the Cowdog books, and his wife, Kris Erickson. Many of Hank’s adventures are inspired by life on this very ranch, where John worked as a cowboy and ranch manager before creating one of the longest-running children’s series in the country.
